The Second Judicial District Court for the State of Nevada, Washoe County, has self-help forms for family law matters. If you cannot afford an attorney this is the best location for you to obtain help. Nevada Legal Services is a non-profit that provides free legal services to people throughout the entire State of Nevada who are low income.
Northern Nevada Legal Aid is a non-profit that provides free and low-cost legal services to people in Washoe County.
VARN is a non-profit that provides various programs for low income victims of domestic violence. Their services are limited to the following specific counties: Carson City, Churchill, Douglas, Elko, Esmeralda, Eureka, Humboldt, Lander, Lincoln, Lyon, Mineral, Nye, Pershing, Storey and White Pine counties.
The National Center for Lesbian Rights is a national legal organization committed to advancing the civil and human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and their families through litigation, public policy advocacy, and public education. If you need help with a custody dispute, separation or divorce, immigration or asylum or other issues, they may assist you.
Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund (TLDEF) is committed to ending discrimination based upon gender identity and expression and to achieving equality for transgender people through public education, test-case litigation, direct legal services, community organizing and public policy efforts. TLDEF also has a “Name Change” project for free help to change your name.
